1) Screen for advance pressure to camshaft actuator; 2) Screen for pressurized oil from oil pump; 3) Screen for retard pressure to camshaft actuator.<\/span><\/p>\n

Owners of 2004-2009 Chevy Trailblazer, Hummer H3 and 2004-2012 Colorado vehicles might complain about an engine belt noise, a rough idle and\/or SES light on. DTC P0014 and\/or P0017 might be stored.<\/p>\n

If a rough idle is experienced, P0106 might also be stored. If the routine diagnosis does not isolate the cause of the concern, inspect the camshaft actuator solenoid screens.<\/p>\n

If any of these screens are missing, replace the camshaft actuator solenoid, change the engine oil and filter and re-evaluate the concern. If none of the screens are missing, proceed as follows:<\/p>\n

Measure the crankshaft end play. The specification is 0.0044 inches to 0.0153 inches. If the end play is only 0.001-inch or so above spec, it is probably not the cause of the concern. If crank end play is excessive, engine replacement is recommended.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
